Piggy bank. I know its quite random to talk about this but as i was browsing through the net, i saw an article about the origin of piggy bank. It brought back my childhood memories of it.
I still remember when i was young, my parent gave me a green coloured piggy bank made of plastic. It is not expensive nor cute. It was already half filled with coins, whereby my parent have been saving in it ever since they got their first house
I still remembered, my father told me to continue my savings in it. At that point of time, i do not understand the reason and meaning of it. What i would do is, whenever I go to the market, shopping etc. As long as i do have some coin left over, i will place it into the small little hole of the piggy bank.
As days goes by, the green little piggy grew heavier and heavier. One day my father said to me "lets break open the piggy bank." I was so excited and we sat down together to break open it. We count the money and at that moment, i do feel a sense of achievement.
The cycle goes on and on....................
Today, i have understand the moral of this whole act and i am very grateful that my parent had taught me the importance of money saving. The concept of, "plan before you buy" had been a great help in helping me to decide whether it's a WANT or a NEED before buying certain stuffs.
Have you all been saving your money too???
Let me share with you all how my piggy bank look like. However its not exactly the same as i couldn't find the picture of how my piggy look like.
